Review ASUS Transformer Book T100 »
Asus has become the champion of budget PADD producers, and its latest Windows based Transformer Book T100 is a prime example of its products.

The beauty of the T100 is the whole package of the tablet, the keyboard, and the price. It is hard to find a sub-$400 Windows laptop with fully detachable keyboard and capable multi-touch screen.

But, alas, it is a budget product, and some shortcomings start to show in details. Two major ones stand out.

For a 10-inch device, anything less than full HD resolution with bright lit screen will come off as somewhat substandard. Since the display is what the users touch and feel every second of the tablet's use, if the user is sensitive about the display quality, or have higher expectations from previous usage of Apple or Samsung tablets, the T100 may be disappointing.

The second part of disappointment may result from the Windows operating system, if the user is coming from Apple or Android. As much as Microsoft has improved the Windows operating system, most users who cross-use Windows and Apple products often much prefer the Apple's operating system.

Those two points serve as a fair warning to anyone who is considering the ASUS Transformer Book T100. As long as the expectation of a budget device is at the buyer's foundation, the T100 is an excellent choice. The keyboard is one of the best that attaches to a tablet computer, for example.
