ASUS is getting serious about the mobile phone category. The company introduced three versions of the ZenFone, in 4, 5 and 6 inch screens sizes.
The ZenFones are powered by Intel's Atom Z2520 processor with Quad-Thread Hyper-Threading Technology, which is built for low power consumption and multitasking devices.
These Android phones are intended to be mid range phones at budget prices, and the specs and target retail prices reflect ASUS's positioning.
The best feature about the 5 and 6-inch versions is the screen that uses ASUS's PenTouch and GloveTouch technologies. The devices accept any stylus and finger inputs even with gloves on. It is welcoming news especially in this cold weather.
ZenFone uses ASUS's own user interface called "ZenUI", which takes a bit of getting used to after using Samsung, Sony or pure Android, but it is pretty intuitive and straightforward.
ASUS packed in features and specs good enough to dominate the budget mobile phone category, and with the devices' low price points, it may succeed in doing so.
