LG continues to "knock on" with the new 5.9-inch G Pro 2.
Powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 800 processor with 2.26 GHz speed, the G Pro 2 is the latest phablet targeted for professional users. 3GB of RAM supports the unit, and it comes with 16GB or 32GB of storage. A microSD slot is also available, which is a huge plus for an LG device. The bezel is the slimmest in the industry, and LG boasts the highest screen to frame ratio.
LG also improved its cameras, with larger sensors and better image stabilization technology. The main camera's optical image stabilization is now married with digital stabilization, and the camera can take 4K ultra high definition videos for the newest TV sets.
The coolest and LG's unique feature is the "knock" combination lock. The user can tap on any part of the screen with a unique "Knock Code" to unlock the phone. The "Knock Code" can be anything between two to eight taps, and the phone can recognize 86,367 different "knock" combinations.
The LG G Pro 2 is on the larger and heavier end of the spectrum compared to other "professional" series phones, and it also lacks a stylus as seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. But LG has made a tremendous progress in competing against the larger and more established brands, and the new G Pro 2 continues to knock on the competition. It is an attractive alternative that provides more return on investment for the professional users.
