Review Sony Xperia Z »
Sony's flagship mobile phone, the Xperia Z is launching on T-Mobile.

Into the Xperia Z, Sony put its reputation and accumulated technology, including company's knowledge base on music player, TV, photography, gaming, movies and entertainment content.

The 5 inch 1080P 443PPI display is stunning, especially because it is powered by Sony's Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. Side-by-side comparison against other flagship devices showed that Xperia Z's screen quality is remarkably good. It is right for Sony to tout: "the world's sharpest 5-inch smartphone display."

The 13MP camera unit comes with built-in image stabilizer, wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture, and maximum ISO speed of 1600. The resulting image is comparable to, or better than, other flagship model camera phones'.

The Walkman software is great to use. Switching from other music player software takes a bit of getting used to, but Sony's legendary Walkman lives up to its reputation. The Sony MH-EX300AP headset that comes with the phone is comparable to Apple's new high fidelity headset and good enough to satisfy discerning music listeners.

The best feature about the Xperia Z is its water and dust resistant body. By now, all PADDs should come with this feature. Sony's implementation leadership is a welcoming sign in the mobile manufacturing industry. Sony says the Xperia Z can be dunked in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes, although not many owners would want to test this with a phone costing over $500.

With its available white body, the Sony Xperia Z brings Apple "coolness" to Android community. It is Bond worthy after all.
